Discouraged now!
By: Theresa | Posted on: 23/02/2010 13:57

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and the business, so let me introduce myself first: My name is Theresa, I live in Germany and over the past couple of weeks, I have done a lot of research on spray tanning as I was going to become a spray tan technician. Spray tanning is not very popular in Germany so far, only a few salons offer it. So I thought "this is it - great thing to do! " But now that I found this forum, I have to tell you that I am somewhat discourage. I had NO idea I could run into so many problems! I thought I'd do a training and go out there to spray the whole world! Now tell me the truth: Is it really this difficult? How long does it take to become professional and confident about what you're doing? And would you do it again? I feel like this is only a "dream" that can't come true. Please share your experience with me! OH. . . By the way. . . I'm not only new to spray tanning, but also to the whole beauty business. Thanks a lot! Theresa

Hi Theresa , please dont be discouraged about going into Spray tanning its just like any new job , takes a little while to get use to it, to build up your confidence but once you get the hang of it , its good ! I am fairly new to it aswell and coming on here you find great information from other professionals who have been going awhile, but once your trained ( you will need to be trained if you want to have insurance) and have practised on your friends and family you will be ready to go for it. Research more find a good training company , sample products, pick your equipment, get a website, etc there is alot to do, but you get what you put in , if you really want it too work for you . Its not diffcult just get plenty practise and believe in yourself, I have been going just under a year now and still come on here for advice and tips. Good Luck Lorr :o)

Hi theresa, dont give up before you even start, sometimes you might read things and think omg but if you are keen and you really want to do it you can. Get trained with a good company and then get as many friends and family after to have tans so you can practise like mad as it can take a while to master the real art of a perfect tan. I am sure we all made mistakes at the beginning whhilst we were learning. I have been doing it for 3 years now and have never looked back, it is the best thing i did with my hair and beauty and enjoy it. Good luck
